The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 59,219, with 143,045 injured, since the start of Israel’s military campaign in October 2023, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. The majority of casualties are women and children, underscoring the devastating impact on civilians.

Since the resumption of hostilities on March 18, 2025, following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement, 8,363 civilians have been killed and 31,004 injured, medical sources confirmed.

In the past 24 hours alone, hospitals received 113 bodies, including 13 recovered from beneath rubble, and 534 wounded individuals, many in critical condition.

Among the dead were 34 aid seekers, killed while attempting to access humanitarian supplies. Over 644 others were injured in similar incidents, bringing the total number of aid seekers killed to 1,060, with 7,207 injured since late May.

The World Food Programme and UNRWA have condemned the violence near aid distribution sites, warning that the presence of armed forces near humanitarian convoys violates international norms and endangers civilians.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a U.S.- and Israeli-backed aid mechanism, has come under scrutiny for its role in the distribution model, which critics say has become a “death trap” for desperate civilians.

Humanitarian organizations report that starvation and malnutrition are rising rapidly, with over 100 children confirmed dead from hunger and thousands more at risk.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimates that 88% of Gaza is now under evacuation orders or militarized zones, leaving 2.1 million people confined to shrinking, unsafe areas.

Rescue efforts remain severely hampered, with many victims still trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency crews due to ongoing bombardments and fuel shortages.
